InBodyDial

How do I test on the InBodyDial?

To perform a weight test on the InBody H20, follow these steps:

1. Tap on the InBody scale to activate it.

2. Wait for the display to show "0.0".

3. Step onto the InBody scale.

4. The weight measurement will appear on the screen once it stabilizes.

Can this device be used by multiple individuals?

Yes, the device supports up to 8 secondary users through the app, or a maximum of 20 users if each uses a separate phone (subject to local policy). Each user can maintain a personalized profile in their app.

What is the difference between all models?

The lineup includes H20, H30, and the new H40. H40 and H30 use triple frequencies to measure both intracellular and extracellular water for more complete analysis (H20 uses multi-frequency).

  • H20: Body Fat Mass, Skeletal Muscle Mass, Body Fat Percentage, Visceral Fat Level.
  • H30: All H20 items plus Abdominal Fat Percentage, Body Type Graph, Growth Curve, and Body Balance indicators.
  • H40: All H30 items plus Leg Muscle Level and peer comparison using health-checkup data.

H30 variants:

  • H30NWI (Wi-Fi): After initial pairing, it recognizes the user and auto-uploads data to the app without opening the app.
  • H30N (No Wi-Fi): After initial pairing, it recognizes the user without opening the app, but you’ll need to open the app and tap ‘Import Data’ to pull results.

H40 is the premium line and currently ships as H40NWI (Wi-Fi).

What is the maximum weight that InBodyDial can measure?

The maximum weight capacity is 150 kg.

What should I do if the weight is inaccurate?

Please follow the steps below and try again:

  1. With the device OFF, wipe between the foot electrodes with a wet tissue.
(Zero calibration runs at power-on; debris can cause abnormal weight readings.)
  2. Press one corner to check if it wobbles.
(If it does, move the device about 30 cm and retry.)
  3. Make sure nothing is placed under the device.
(Carpets, mats, towels, etc. can affect readings.)
  4. Power ON, turn the dial to set your height, briefly press the dial, confirm 0.0 kg, then step on to measure.
  5. Do not hold the hand grip when measuring weight.
    (Holding it adds ~400–600 g.)
  6. Check for nearby electronics/outlets that may affect current.
(If nearby, move to another location and retry; these can cause errors or drift.)
  7. Replace all batteries with unopened new alkaline cells.
(Do not use manganese cells from Coupang/Daiso; use 4 of the same brand—e.g., Bexel4, Energizer4.)

InBody test results vary on the same device. Why do outcomes differ?

InBody uses BIA to analyze body water and derive body composition. Stable body water is crucial; depending on body water shifts, user-related variation can average ~1% body fat (up to ~3%). Please follow these tips to minimize variation:

  1. Morning tests: wait ~30 minutes after waking to stabilize fluids.
(Stand 5–10 minutes before testing to avoid fluid pooling.)
  2. Test before exercise/shower/bath.
  3. Wear short sleeves/shorts so skin surfaces don’t touch (avoid armpit/thigh contact).
  4. Ensure current passes well through hands/feet.
(If hands/feet are dry, press a wet tissue to them for ~30 seconds before testing.)
  5. Enter your accurate height.
  6. Place the device on a flat surface; if it wobbles when you press a corner, move it ~30 cm.
  7. Ensure nothing is under the device (no carpets/mats/towels).
  8. Power ON → set height → short-press the dial → confirm 0.0 kg → step on.
  9. Do not hold the hand grip during the weight step (adds ~400–600 g).
  10. Keep away from electronics/outlets that may affect current.
  11. Replace all batteries with unopened new alkaline cells (avoid stored “new” cells that may have drained).

Home and professional InBody devices differ in specs and environment, so they aren’t direct comparison targets. Because values can change throughout the day, measure consistently (same time, clothing, and routine). For best trend tracking, measure twice per session at the same time of day for ~10 days, check the app graph, and average the middle values (exclude the lowest and highest to remove outliers due to condition/contact resistance). Please don’t over-interpret 1–2 isolated outlier results.”
